Brodick Accommodation

Over looking Brodick on the Isle of Arran, with Goatfell in the Distance.Brodick is a large village on the Isle of Arran (the largest village is Lamlash) in the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. Set in a central location on the east coast of the island, Brodick sits in a wide bay and has a wonderful backdrop of Goat Fell (the highest mountain on Arran). The ferry from Ardrossan, on the North Ayrshire coast, arrives at the village's harbour where it is also possible to sail to Brodick Castle. Just outside the ferry terminal is the main bus station where all of the Isle of Arran's bus services terminate.

So, with it's central location, the perfect transport links and superb scenery, the village of Brodick makes for a perfect base for a vacation on the Isle of Arran. Accommodation is relatively easy to find (see our listings below) with a number of hotels and guest houses offering three and four star bed and breakfast. However it is important to note that there are times, espectially during the highly popular Arran Folk Festival, when it can be rather difficult to find a free room so it is always a good idea to book your accommodation at your earliest opportunity.

One of the things that many people visit the Isle of Arran for is a few rounds of golf. For such a small island it is surprising that there are a total of seven golf courses. Only three of the courses (Brodick, Lamlash and Whiting Bay) and the rest are nine hole, except for the only twelve hole golf course (Shiskine) in the world, which you will find near the village of Blackwaterfoot on the west coast of Arran.

Brodick has a few tourist attractions of its own, Arran Heritage Museum is highly popular and rather expansive, including an 18th century crofter's farm, smiddy, old stables, victorian cottage and more. If the weather is bad another place to visit is the Arran Visitor Centre and Home Farm. Places such as the Island Cheese Company provide entertainment and an opportunity to sample some local produce. Of course one of the most well known local visitor attraction is Brodick Castle, this is a great day out with fantastic gardens and a country park to wander arround at your leisure.
