Arran Guest Houses

Sannox on the Isle of ArranThe Isle of Arran is the most southerly Scottish island and it is highly accessible. Being full of great places to visit Arran is a superb place for a relaxing vacation, however, the island also offers some opportunities for a number of sports such as rambling and watersports.

When taking a vacation on the Isle of Arran it is well worth taking the time to explore the whole of the island. While most visitors focus on the south of the island, which is lush and green, few venture to the 'Highlands' in the north. Though the north of Arran is more barren than the south, and certainly more mountainous, the scenery is just as spectacular and some of the coastal areas are extremely picturesque and well worth a visit.

For those types of people who enjoy rambling and hill walking basing yourself in the north of Arran makes sense and the village of Corrie makes for a great base for a hiking vacation. Corrie is, most probably, the most pretty seaside village on the island and is situated roughly six miles north of Brodick. If you are visiting the island to play golf it is important to remember that Corrie Golf Club is actually a little further up the coast in Sannox (the picture on the left is of Sannox on the Isle of Arran).

Moving even further up the coast an you arrive at Lochranza, which is dominated by the ruined castle standing in a prominent position in the bay. A key is available from the nearby post office if you would like to explore the castle.
